About EPI

The Greek Oral History Association was established in February 2013, its headquarters are located at the University of Thessaly, Volos. The Association:

  • promotes oral history and biographical research as valid methods for the recording and interpretation of recent history and contemporary social reality
  • promotes international standards concerning the collection, archiving and preservation of audiovisual testimonies
  • contributes to the creation and development of local oral history groups
  • encourages the recording of life stories
  • gives advice on interviewing techniques, equipment, ethics and good practice in the archiving of audiovisual archives
  • organizes conferences and training workshops
  • maintains a mailing list
  • publishes works on oral history in print and in digital form
